southern refrigerated transport says they want want you to run legally all the time but they do not give you loads that will let you run legal all the time and if your truck breaks they expect you to wait for it to get done then run all night long to del the ld and if there is a refrigerated ld you must insure that the reefer does not run out of fuel or quit and if it does while your truck is in the shop you are in big trouble. I had taken my scheduled time off in july 2007 for 1 wk came back worked 2 wks had a death in the family took my vacation wk to go from ar to sd for the funeral got back home and worked 2 wks got brought and wrote up for only running 6750 miles for month of july and it could result in termination, if i dont bring the miles up things went well til dec 2007 when I got sick on the road with bronchitis went home for 2 wk in jan 2008 was still sick spent another 2 wks home sick and feb 2008 spent another 2 wks home sick all with dr notes saying i could not work and in mar 2008 the fired me for not running enough miles but before they fired me they had me run a ld for them to drop off for another driver then brought into the terminal under the prospect that I was to get one of the many lds on the yard that had to be run , did my log book check no violations, saw safety did the sign off sheet on thurs then waited all day for a ld but was not cleared then found out that dwayne wanted to see me in the morning on fri and that is when they fired me for not running enough miles to make a truck payment
