Ive said it before and ill say it again ! Most all companies are equal during thier training periods, they just all have different ways of selling thier companies, unless you train with Crete or Shaffer.. As a genaral rule you wont retire from a training company, unless you get lucky. The most important thing is to stay with your first company for AT LEAST 6 months as a SOLO driver which means 6 months by yourself with your own truck. Your experience does not count when you are out with your trainer! Your experience starts upon truck assignment...

You need to be looking for a company that has good miles with a starting pay around .32 cents.. schnieder is on the low side starting in the high .20cpm... they also have a longer training program than most carriers that is a waste of your time and money... if they have you approved you can probably go anywhere.. Take a look at lisa motor lines, they are one of the best to start out with. they have great training pay and start out at .32. They are a smaller company with a big backer so you will have a more personal relationship with them.

I spoke to a recruiter at Schneider today. They currently require at least 6 months over the road with 40'+ trailer. The recruiter said they have shut down their trainee school and are only considering less experienced drivers out of Chicago...
