Questions About Your DAC Report.......

Postby dacfix on Tue Nov 24, 2009 4:15 pm

Many times a driver does not know what is keeping them from obtaining gainful employment and many times this is due to negative or inaccurate information being reported on the driver's DAC report. Many times, drivers are aware of what information is on their DAC report but are not sure how to fix it or what to do.

Our company is the only company in the United States that is dedicated to assisting drivers with their DAC reports.

If you have questions, feel free to leave them on the post. We will be checking the message board on a daily basis or feel free to contact us directly by telephone at 800-494-7517.

Hi TSteit22,
I also worked for USxpress back in 2004-2006 then went to a company called Beech Freight Systems out of Little Rock, Ark....that was about the dumbest thing I could ever have done!! This guy had ties with USxpress as an O/O that started his own company but still leased all of his trucks from USxpress and got loads from them. I ran my tail off for him but after being out for about 3 weeks I had put in for hometime because of an important Dr. Appt. that I couldn't miss! I had given them 2 weeks notice of this appointment. To make a long story short....He told me I could not go home because I hadn't ran enough miles for him! I told him I was taking the truck back to Tunnel Hill, where I had originally picked it up, clean it out and I was quitting and going home(Alabama) because I could not miss this appointment. Well my last payday was a very good one until he kept almost all of it for abandoned truck and out of route miles. When I finally got a copy of my DAC report I found that he had put "Unauthorized use of equiment and Discharged" ....BOTH WAS A LIE :!: and like you it took me forever to find a driving job again!! I deffinitely can understand your pain!!! I wish you luck on another job but there is hope...I finally found one, not the best of companies but its a job and I do get home on weekends now, been with them going on 2 years now.

Both of you can get help from DAC fix, I know you can dixiebell,Im not to sure about the drug/failure, because the actual drug results are released by the company, not DAC, DAC just puts company policy violation and termed which throws up a red flag to verify the results with a signed release from the driver.... If they can get those lies off that report, you could probably get a good job again. I think the reason they haven't answered yalls post is because of the Thanksgiving holiday, but give them until Monday to get it answered , and AS ALWAYS if you do decide to utilize their services, keep us posted on here. Maybe I finally got us an advocate to fix DAC reports when these companies lie like this!!!!

Thanks Ole Wise Kidd for your post in regards to my post to TSTEIT22. I spoke with USIS about my situation and they told me all I could do was put in a Rebuttal that would be added with my DAC REPORT. I sent and got the paperwork to do this but found the job I have now with Osborn Transportation and explained my situation to them and they hired me AND taught me how to drive a 10-speed....they are not the best company as far as equipment goes but I appreciate the fact that they gave me a chance! I have been with them since July 2008 and get home on weekends 99% of the time. I did go without a job of anykind for a year tho after Beech FS lied on my DAC! I thank God I found the job I have now! It deffinitely isn't fair to us drivers to allow companies like USXPRESS/BEECH FREIGHT SYSTEMS to put anything they want to put on our DAC REPORTS!! I am a believer that people like that always get whats coming to them in the long run......
Thanks again for all of your help back when I needed someone to talk too about my problem...sorry I don't get on here as much as I would like too but I have to get another lap top so I can utilize it while I am away from home.
I hope you and yours had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I wish you a very Merry Christmas....

Abandonment or unauthorized use of company equipment is viewed by employers the same way as a failed drug test. I am glad that you found employment after that because it is very rare. Abandonment can ruin a driver's career. We can still work on this for you. With the market as tight as it is today, it is very beneficial to the driver to keep their DAC report clear.

Hello DACFIX,

I'm curious now about how one obtains A FREE REPORT of ones File/Record according to the dismal and shoddy information attained at this site:
http://www.hireright.com/Consumers-Applicants.aspx

When the Company was known as DAC, information as to acquiring a copy was easily identified yet now as Hireright they're successfully diminished the capacity to acquire information of obtaining a copy with the pathetic links provided at that site page.
When one fills in the requested information and hits Submit, one is then taken to a Dispute page, which IS NOT where one (like me) intended to be directed.
One can as well call the customer service line and listen repeatedly to the annoying message before either hanging up (like I did) or continuing to possibly actually speak with someone that might know something.

I sent a request last week and while it is stated that they need 5 days to respond, I have yet to receive a response to my email, on the phone or through snail mail.

I'm not interested in paying a service to provide what is otherwise FREE.

Thank you for your time.
I hope the BEst uv WELLness 2-u-n-urs-n ALL adventures!!
I hope you comprehend what I'm posting because sometimes I wonder......or wander.

The reason Dac Fix charges drivers for a copy of a report, is because DAC Fix has to pay DAC to receive such info, as stated before yes you can get one for free if you want to wait forever and go thru what is stated above, or you can get one right away with DAC FIX. DAC FIX and DAC Services are NOT the same company. Anyway I think I answered this right..

You bring up information that we do not try to hide from anyone and are forth coming with.

Yes, in a 12 month period a driver can contact Hire Right (DAC) and request a free copy of their DAC reports. We are not part of DAC, so we have no control over what their process is for a driver to obtain that free copy.

I have talked to many drivers who have requested their free copies only to have waited a period of time and still not received that copy. When they have contacted Hire Right, they are told that the report was placed in the mail and that it must have been "lost in the mail" at which time they tell you that you can request a new copy of the report for a fee. Of the drivers who have paid them for a copy, it always arrives.

Yes, we charge a copy to pull a report for a driver. We charge $49.00. Why do we charge?

It costs our company to pull the report. We do not have instant access like the carriers do. Carriers and recruiters are the only ones who have instant access because they pay for a subscription which we can not get because it would be a conflict of interest since we work on behalf of the drivers. We get them in our office in 10-12 days after requesting and sometimes sooner than that.

In addition, the $49.00 fee does more than provide you a copy of your DAC report. When the report comes in, we provide a copy to the driver either by email, fax or mail, which ever method the driver chooses. In addition, each driver who orders a report also receives a phone consultation where we go over the report with the driver, assist them in answering any questions that they have an in addition explain what is being reported and how that affects the driver.

I will be posting a thread to explain our entire process in detail on this forum as well.

Apparently I have a misdirected talent(?) for stating the obvious. Thank you for your comment/statement!

DACFIX: I have talked to many drivers who have requested their free copies only to have waited a period of time and still not received that copy. When they have contacted Hire Right, they are told that the report was placed in the mail and that it must have been "lost in the mail" at which time they tell you that you can request a new copy of the report for a fee. I have yet to pay them for a copy however in light of all the other goofiness by federal agencies and their alliances, such payment would not be a surpise should it be necessary. I sent a request Tuesday 1/26.
I expect that with the severity of the weather as had happened in Oklahoma, that arrival to me may take a week or so longer. If nothing arrives by Feb. 16 to 20, I'll call them. A friend received his copy after a 2 week wait, so there's hope.

>>UPDATE: as of Sunday 1/30/10, I HAVE already RECEIVED a copy of the record/file from HireRight.
The only PROBLEM I have with this new program is that on EVERY PAGE with identifying information, my S.S.N. has been blacked out with a marker. ALL other identifying information was unobstructed, so go figure.
There was no Driving Record information. The response from them was mailed 1/26 and my new request (with a copy of my driver license and s.s. card) was mailed 1/26. I wonder if possibly the request is returned voided or simply ignored.
I hope the BEst uv WELLness 2-u-n-urs-n ALL adventures!!

Hire Right did start blacking out all driver information such as social security numbers when requested by the driver. Hire Right has had many system problems since the first of the year as well so this may be the reason you did not receive your Driving Record from them when you requested the report originally.

Keep us updated as to when or if you receive your Driving Record. I would be curious to see how long it is taking them to get the information out to drivers.

Hello ALL,
Yesterday I received ANOTHER file report yet this time it was not folded in half and stuffed in a small envelope. It was sent in a Document envelope and was basically the same as the previous report.
As in my other post, I mailed the request 1/26 and received the response 2/12, with, of course, ALL the appearances of my SSN and Driver License number being blacked out. For some pointless reason they did NOT black out my birthdate.
Such blacking out is RIDICULOUS and serves NO PURPOSE, for I'm sure such blacking out isn't applied when companies request copies.
Also, my full name is ONLY stated ONCE on the cover letter, where on EVERY OTHER PAGE my full name is not included (just 1st initial and last name) so how can anyone including me be sure these twits offer the correct information since the SSN and Driver License #s are blacked out?!
Seems VERY CLEAR that ANYONE can obtain a copy of their report/file simply by asking online at the hireright site as well as downloading the requisite form and mailing it in with copies of Identity cards.

I've proven and ANYONE can verify ANYONE can get MORE THAN ONE COPY within a 12 month period.
I hope the BEst uv WELLness 2-u-n-urs-n ALL adventures!!
I hope you comprehend what I'm posting because sometimes I wonder......or wander.

You know a point has been made by reading this post, Drivers are entitled to a FREE DAC from hire right as stated above if they want to wait forever to get it even IF they get it, and as I have read these posts the free DAC WOULD NOT include your MVR, That is a totally separate report that DAC sends out. SO I am assuming all you would get would be the DAC, NOT the DAC and MVR. Joni, does DAC FIX offer the DAC with MVR or just the DAC? They are 2 separate reports, I know this because I have ran many DAC reports and MVR'S when I recruited for SRT and SRT was charged for each DAC and each MVR ran, and Ill bet DAC doesn't offer MVR service for free to anyone... As for drivers doing it online yourself, I can personally VERIFY I DID NOT EVER RECEIVE A COPY OF MY REPORT I REQUESTED (4 TIMES I MIGHT ADD) , And I have NEVER Heard of a driver that has requested their free DAC and received it in a timely manner with the exception of screwdriver2010, and I have spoke with A LOT of drivers that tried.

Under DAC/USIS, in '08 I received a copy of what they had in my MVR record/file and I had to dispute such with corrected information and they then sent me a copy with the updated and corrected information.
Such dispute took 1 Month.
I just shredded it yesterday.

Under hireright, one cannot apparently acquire information regarding ones MVR however I'll figure with the help of DacFix, one may have no problem.

The ONLY copies of my record/file I have are of the 20/20 Criminal Records Insight Database, work history as reported by DAC/USIS subscribers and the list of Companies that have sought my record/file since '07.
To concur with Ole Wise Kidd, such MVR record seems unattainable by the individual requestor.
I hope the BEst uv WELLness 2-u-n-urs-n ALL adventures!!
