Looking for work.

Postby RiggLover on Sun Oct 12, 2008 10:06 am

Hi i just passed the class A road test and currently looking for work. However, i have a dwi that is one year old, will that keep me from finding a job?

Also can anyone tell me of a company that will train me. I want to work for JB Hunt, but they need 3 months experience. Thanks in advance.

I hate to bear bad news. but #1 most carriers will not hire you without at least a 160 hour training course. Taking the test without that is a waste of time for the big companies. #2 your DWI will need to be at least 3 years old with some carriers and 5 years with most. I am not saying you wont find a job, but getting one with a major carrier will be a 100% no, and finding a job will be really hard. I would do somthing else until you can get that DWI behind you and go to trucking school, at least then you will be on the right path.
