Flatbedder Needing Honest Carrier

Postby Flatbeddriver101 on Thu May 29, 2008 8:27 am

Flatbed OTR Driver Seeking work with good and honest people, prefer to stay out for a month or so before coming Home, Prior to putting this ad on the web i was a Lease owner operater with a Flatbed Carrier in Florida that sold me a older Mack tractor that broke down on me in Georgia then sold me another tractor that also did the same as the first truck, Now that i have left that Carrier they reported to Dac that i didnt turn in my last 4 days of logs when i resigned because when the truck was picked up from me on a Landoll Trailer because it wouldnt run my logs were with the Tractor and the truck was cleaned inside and logs were tossed in the trash now even tho i dont have any tickets or Dui's or anything else on my record except the log violations i cant find work with a desent carrier, So if anyone could take a chance on me I wouldnt let you down, All of my experiance is on Flatbeds,Stepdecks,RGN's,and alot of other specialized trls but if the carrier is willing to teach me I am more than willing to learn

Sorry for the Long letter
Thanks William P Payne

William,
I have been with several carriers and I can tell you from experience that four missing logs will not be the reason not to hire you. The DAC may say "missing logs", but they might be saying more on an employment verification form which is a communication between employers. If you have applied to several companies that have turned your application down, I would write a letter to that companies Safety/HR department and request a copy of your application. According to new federal guidelines, it is your right to receive all documents pertaining to your denied application. Normally you must request these documents within 90 days of the denial. I am sure when you receive the complete app, you will get a better picture of what is being said about you. Some companies may not honor the request. Be prepared to talk to a lawyer. It may have more to do with your lease. I know this is not what you were looking for, but so often drivers get in this situation and do not know what is happening behind the scenes. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
