I was working for SWIFT and I was still in training with my mentor when I was approaching to a narrowed street I stopped completelly to analize my space and, the only way that I had to get out was to make a U turn really thight because I was not going to drive 2 miles backwards at night time risking my self to heat something.
After I did the U turn, I left with no problem but, I damagged the rear of my tractor with the head of my own trailer when they touched to each other due to my jackniving.
Obviously I didn't have a ticket or police report because I didn't touch anything otwards.
2 weeks latter,
When I finished my training my surprise was that SWIFT fired me and my trainer.
They put that incident in my DAC report like a preventable accident.
It was not so big like it seems, however is hurting me really bad because if I don't dispute or fix this, my career is already over for the rest of my life in spite of my MVD report appears clean.
This incident happened in 06/2007.
Please help me.
-thanks-
afa

That should not keep you from ever getting a job.. yes minor incidents do get reported to DAC no matter how minor they may be. You can contact DAC at the numbers and links provided on our forum to tell your side of the story. The incident will NOT be removed but at least anyone who runs the report will be able to read your side of the story right below it ! Hope this helps, and sorry that happend to you..

Don't give up!

It sounds to me as if you broke the fiberglass fairing. I would stop saying you did it in a "u-turn". Just say you turned tightly as you were directed to by your trainer. Any time the words 'u-turn', 'rear-end', 'jackknife' or 'overturn' are heard, a safety department cringes!! I know many companies that may consider the broke fairing an 'incident' vice an accident. It happens all the time. What have you been doing since 06/07? If you did not get back into driving, that may be the harder obstacle to overcome.

Contact DAC directly and wait forever to get a free one, or call DACFIX and pay a fee to get one right away... DAC FIX is a few topics up, you can also ask them questions there. Are you thinking you have a problem on your DAC or are you just wanting a copy?
