Web Address: http://www.werner.com/
Recruiting Department: 800-346-2818

When I was on the phone getting rejected by Schneider, I was told that Swift and Werner Enterprises are two companies that will work with inexperienced / less experienced drivers.

I called Werner's recruiting department and was told that they required 30 days of tractor trailer experience. I qualify! Uh.... No - I don't - I pulled about 50 loads locally with a CDL A Permit last year. The 30 days MUST be with a full CDL License... :(

I WILL find someone to put me in a truck! :)

Major companies will ONLY accept experienced OTR drivers OR Drivers that have successfully completed at least a 160 hour certified CDL School. They will NOT accept a driver that went and got their permit on their own. After a driver completes CDL school, applies to a company, and gets approved by that company. That driver will then be sent to orientation, get assigned to a trainer and they will have to ride with that trainer for up to 6 weeks ( sometimes longer depending on the company ) before they SOLO out by themselves and start accruing experience OTR. 8)

IF you got your permit, you can go to work or a mom and pop company run th risk of not getting paid, running illegally, ect. and get 6 months that way, but it has to be verifiable !

Read my posts under New to Trucking to get info on the steps you must take to have a successful career in trucking ! 8)

I work for PAM. They are okay but not the best. What I mean is this. They take 5% from the top either if your a first time driver or have experience. .26 - 3 months, .27 - 6months, .28 - 9 months, .32 1yr. If your a experience then the pay depends on it.

Oh and you live in the NY... Most likely they will like to have you as a driver. Not many driver in PAM like driving in the Big Apple. And from what I gather in your post it seems you have some experience so your pay will be probably .34 cpm. Let me know if you are going to call them so that I can give you my First and Last name as a reference.

Oh yea another thing I forgot to mention is that if your a first seater, meaning that you have experience as a trucker and get hired. Then they will give the person who reference you to PAM, if your hired a $1800.00 bonus check; which I would be happy to give you a % split if your interested.

Let's not let this easy cash go to waste! :P
