USA CDL JOBS TRUCK DRIVER FORUM

I'm not sure if this is where I need to post this, but here it goes.

I got hired on by CR England for my first truck driving job. They sent me thru their school the beginning of Oct. 09. As is expected, we all took the pre-employment drug screen. I didn't think anything of it because I don't use drugs. I was perscribed phentermine to loose weight the prior december and refilled my script in Feb. but didn't take them all. I started taking them again right before I started because I didn't want to be constantly eating. Anyways, I finished their school and went off with my trainer for over 30 days. When I finished that, I was told that they do not hire for company drivers anymore. All they are doing is the lease program.
Now, I feel I should say this, I did not do my research like I should have, or I would not have even started with them knowing that. I do not want to lease a truck, especially being fresh out of school.
But back to my issue. I did not return to work for them to finish out the other 60 days of training where they would teach me how to lease a truck because I did not want to lease a truck. So I stayed home with my family through Dec. for the holidays and got a call from CRST to go through their orientation. I was excited and ready to go. So I went up there on a monday and everything goes smoothly until wednesday morning when the instructor pulls me aside and says that I need to pack all of my stuff and go home. He said that CR England says that I failed my initial drug test. It was a total shock to me. So when I called the safety guy for england he said that yes I failed it and he doesn't know how I was employed for them. So I got the number for the testing facility to see if I could figure out what was going on. The lady at the testing facility told me that it came back positive for methamphetemines. I told her that was impossible because I don't do drugs. I told her I was taking a diet pill but I couldn't remember the name of it. She told me exactly what it was like thats what it came back as. So after I paid for my own way back from orientation, I gathered all the perscription information and faxed it to them. But the way she sounded on the phone, she said that the perscription was too old.
So now I have the school loan company on my back, and no job to pay them back. There are a lot of reports online about them being crooked and doing this to other people and that they even have lawsuits for this exact thing. I passed the drug test for CRST, and they said if I can get england to clear it, that I could go back to them. What are my options? Am I just screwed? I really enjoyed being otr and would love to drive again. Please help me

You are in a tight spot, but you have options, let me do some investigation and ill post back tomorrow..

If you had a prescription for the medication and you can prove that from a letter from your Doctor, I am positive you will be able to get that removed. It will be VERY hard but it can be done. To ALL Drivers that read this post !
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS disclose your prescriptions to your company when they are prescribed and when taking a drug screen, Let the safty department know immidiately what you are taking even if they are old, better yet if the prescription is old DONT TAKE THEM ! Go get a new prescription and this will keep you safe from the trouble of a positive drug screen... they will show up in your system, even if you think they are not..... ALWAYS disclose them.. It is MUCH harder to fix this problem than to disclose the prescriptions up front. Your CDL is your career ! and if you EVER get a positive on a Drug Screen ... you are done for three years.

Your right Ole Wise Kidd, when I finished my drug screen from PAM I got a call from the Medical Department. Asking me all kinds of questions and they were: "Do you take over the counter pills or prescribe ones." Also even any surgeries in my lifetime.
