I have completed CDL Training and have received my CDL license.

Before going to CDI, I went to Swift Driving Academy in San Antonio where I only attended two days before leaving. I was notified several days later that I had failed the drug screen. I went on to CDI and passed my DOT physical and could pass any DOT physical required any day of the week going forward. Apparently this is holding me back from pursuing my trucking career even though I did exceptionally well at CDI.
I was told that I should go to a SAP and that would provide me with the amnesty i need for my past mistake. Is that true? The cost is $550 so I would like to know where I stand before shelling out this money because the industry seemed to be riddled with bad information to truck drivers.

If this isn't a solution, is there anything else I can do?

SAP would be a waste of time, your career is done right out of the gate. Swift will put that on your DAC report and will verify that drug test failure for 3 years. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there is really nothing you can do at this point, wait 3 years or try working for a log company. Sorry this happened to you, but dont waste any money on a sap no one will hire your with that failure on your record.

what is a log company? Are there companies that do not use a DAC report. A local trucking company maybe?

Hauling timber or a local construction job, there are smaller companies that dont check DAC but good ones are very hard to find. Even so if you ever tell them you failed a drug screen they will avoid you at all costs.. all companies small or large are required by DOT to verify your work history and if they verify swift, swift will disclose that failure. Im sorry that happened to you but everyone should know that if your hold or plan on getting a CDL you will be drug tested..
