Hello new to the boards

Postby Redfrog on Thu Jan 29, 2009 12:18 am

Hello. Names Simon, but you can call me frog. I am new to trucking. I have no negative background at all. I’ll be taking my drive test on 02/03/09. Passing that I’ll have 26 hours training and a CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsements.
I’ll start looking at the local unemployment office this week. Are there any other avenues for local jobs? I am looking to get my foot in the door, and some miles under my butt. Right now I am not real picky, but I don’t want to be dickering around with hard pays.
This is a bit of a career change for me. I’ve got a Cal. Contractors license, but the economy is killing me. I specialize in high-end wall finishes, and I can’t even find paintwork right now. Truth be told, I am tired of chasing dollars and scrambling for work. I am hoping to find regular stable work, that won’t evaporate.
I just wanted to introduce myself, and say thanks for being out there.

Hey Frog, welcome to the board. Trust me when I say the economy is affecting everyone. First off it will be very hard to find a local job right out of school BUT they are out there you just have to find them. Good luck to you!
